Amoghasiddhi is one of the Five Wisdom Buddhas of the Vajrayana tradition of Buddhism. He is associated with the accomplishment of the Buddhist path and of the destruction of the poison of envy. His name means He Whose Accomplishment Is Not In Vain.Amoghasiddhi is associated with the conceptual mind (as opposed to the non-conceptual or sensational mind). His action towards the promotion of Buddhist paths is the pacification of evils. This is symbolised by Amoghasiddhi's symbol, the moon. He gestures in the mudra of fearlessness, symbolising his and his devotees' fearlessness towards the poisons or delusions.Amoghasiddhi is one of the five mythic Buddhas of the Vajrayana tradition. Along with Ratnasambhava, Amoghasiddhi joined the three Buddhas Amitabha, Aksobhya, and Vairocana in the seventh to eighth century. He is described as the Buddha of the realization of the Bodhisattva path, a Buddha of actions, actions perfected and free of karmic consequences, actions that are pure, crystallized, transparent. This beautiful Thangka is painted by a very experienced Thangka Painter who has a studio in the shadow of the great Boudha Stupa in Kathmandu. It is unframed and painted onto canvas, the painted area of the picture measures 11.8 inches by 15.75 inches and is a very detailed hand painting in the traditional thangka style. The gold on the painting is gold leaf paint and the pigments used are all natural mineral or vegetable based paints. Our Thangkas are at least 20 years old as the Thangka Painting in the last Century was far superior to current Thangkas which are made primarily for the tourist trade.
